[Royal Meeting] "Understanding COP28" Dubai International Visit Successfully Held
From November 30 to December 5, 2023, Jason Xiang, the founder of the Sino-European Manufacturing Club and CEO of Kylin Spirits Group, led a delegation of new energy companies to Dubai to attend the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and held a series of meetings with the Sustainable Markets Initiative Council of King Charles III of the United Kingdom, the Dubai Royal Family, the World Health Organization Foundation, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, and the Secretariat of the World Economic Forum.
COP28 was a critical moment in driving global climate action. A major agenda item of the conference was the "Global Stocktake," which focused on developing emission reduction plans, reducing the production of fossil fuels such as oil and coal, and increasing the use of renewable energy. Joint actions to address global climate change risks and to promote global energy transition and security were also key discussion points.
At the COP28 Blue Zone Garden in Dubai Expo City, the delegation, as representatives of the Chinese business community, listened to an important speech by Ding Xuexiang, special representative of President Xi Jinping, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and Vice Premier of the State Council.
Subsequently, they were invited to attend and exchange with French President Macron, UN Secretary-General Guterres, Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Climate Change Affairs Envoy Sultan Al Jaber, among others.
Series of meetings and exchanges during the conference
• Xie Zhenhua, China's Special Envoy for Climate Change Affairs
• Jennifer Jordan-Saifi, Chief Executive Officer of King Charles III's Council for the Sustainable Markets Initiative
• Badr Jafar, Special Representative for Business & Philanthropy of COP28 and CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company

After the conference, the new energy enterprise delegation of the Sino-European Manufacturing Club was invited to the residence of H.E. AWAD BIN MOHAMMAD BIN SHEIKH MUGRIN, Prince of the Emirate of Dubai, for afternoon tea to reach a consensus on cooperation regarding relevant projects.
